Ghost Release Animated Videos for “Mary On A Cross” and “Future is a Foreign Land”
It’s the song that just… won’t… die and the track that played movie goers out of the theater. Swedish powerhouse outfit Ghost dropped not one, but two animated music videos for “Mary On A Cross” and “Future Is A Foreign Land”. One is something you likely heard all over TikTok and other social media platforms and the other you could previously only hear after watching Rite Here Rite Now or listening to the movie’s soundtrack.
Released at midnight and just moments ago, respectively, the videos show the exploits of a young Papa Nihil during the ’60s. Ghost lore hounds — yes, they exist — are likely to get a lot out of these clips, as it’s not uncommon for the band’s mastermind Tobias Forge to leave hints and Easter eggs in something like this.
If you watch “Mary On A Cross” and then immediately follow it up with “The Future Is A Foreign Land”, it seems you get a bit a glimpse at the story that follows Impera. The empire’s fallen, shit goes bad, etcetera. It’s especially interesting because the second video might have given us a glimpse what might be new looks for the band (aka ghouls). No new info about Papa Emeritus IV (don’t wanna go into spoilers for the movie), so we’ll have to wait for that.
You can check out the two videos below. Then get started theorizing what it all means. I know you guys want to do that.
