Jerry Cantrell’s Upcoming New Single “Vilified” Features at Least One Metallica Member

0

I don’t think there’s a reasonable way for me to describe just how fucking stoked I am to hear more of Jerry Cantrell‘s solo shit when he releases his new single “Vilified” this Thursday. I’ve been a massive fan of his for a long time and after the 2021 release of Brighten, I can only imagine how good this new track’s gonna be.

Last night, Cantrell took to social media to spill some more details about the new song. Aside from saying how excited he was to be hitting the road with Bush and Candlebox next month, he revealed that the new track will feature Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo and drummer Gil Sharone, whose professional credits include work with Stolen Babies and The Dillinger Escape Plan. He also shared that Joe Barresi had produced the new track (and ostensibly the new album Cantrell’s gotta be working on).

“Really stoked to be hitting the road with @bush @candlebox plus special guests to start the campaign for the new record. Here’s a couple shots from the studio with my brothers @robtrujillo and @gilsharone who cut the first single Vilified with me. Also a shot of my esteemed producing partner @eviljoebarresi who helped me birth this beautiful bastard . Tickets are moving fast for these shows so grab a stub and come Rawk out with us.”

The involvement of all three individuals shouldn’t really come as a shock. Both Barresi and Sharone worked on Brighten in their respective roles, while Trujillo was the bassist on record for 2002’s Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2.

At this point, Thursday can’t come soon enough. In the meantime, you can check out the list of tour dates Cantrell’s got set up with Bush and Candlebox.
