Premiere: Sickbay’s New Track “Killing You Slowly” Hits Like a Sledgehammer

Attention assholes that claim we don’t highlight smaller bands — choke on this heavy track from Beacon, New York death metal outfit Sickbay. These guys have been smashing up the Hudson Valley for a while now and they’re premiering their latest track “Killing You Slowly” with us.

Yet if you think these guys are just some nothing band, keep that shit in check. Over the years, Sickbay’s shared the stage with some pretty big names, including Hatebreed, Cro-Mags, Deicide, and Fit For An Autopsy.

Originally formed back in the early 2000s, the band’s since picked back up over the last few years to craft a sound that pays as much homage to hardcore bands like Warzone and Youth of Today as it does to death metal legends like Obituary and Suffocation. Just last year, they regained their full strength as a four-piece and haven’t looked back.

In fact, the band says it’s that reformation that created the track “Killing You Slowly.”

“‘Killing You Slowly’ is the second song released with the band’s new members and is a direct result of frustration and anger built up while rebuilding the Sickbay lineup. Sickbay’s existence is a story of resilience and blast beats. We had a blast recording this song with our longtime producer Mike Usifer and new to us engineer Richie Kennon.”

As for the accompanying music video, which you can check below, that was filmed and edited by Greg Kanan of Kingston TV.

“Killing You Slowly” will be one of the tracks featured on the band’s upcoming album Permanent Solution. If you’d like to find out more and to check out their previous single “Controlling Corpses,” be sure to head over to Sickbay’s Bandcamp page for more details and to check out their past releases.
