Jason Hook Has Been “Completely Disconnected” From Five Finger Death Punch Since 2020
It’s been almost four years now since Jason Hook’s departure from Five Finger Death Punch, and it was not one of those amicable splits. Hook indicated that he had been issued a gag order at one point to stop him from talking about what happened. Well, Hook has a new band now called Flat Black and, if you want to know where Hook stands with his old bandmates in FFDP, Hook doesn’t seem to know nor care.
In a recent interview with Audio Ink Radio (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Hook was asked if he kept in touch with his former bandmates from FFDP, and Hook indicated his communication with them was very minimal:
“I have the occasional text message with Ivan [Moody, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer]. He’s kind of the only one I really communicate with.”
When asked if there would be a possibility of Flat Black playing shows with Five Finger Death Punch, a question with a very predictable answer for anyone who paid any attention to Hook’s exit, Hook said he found the possibility unlikely:
“That would be up to them. My guess is they probably wouldn’t do that. But you never know. Whatever.”
He then added:
“I don’t know where their heads are at. I’ve just been completely disconnected from the whole thing since 2020.”
That’s all completely fair. Why would you ask Hook what his former bandmates are thinking. That’s like asking someone what their ex is up to. I don’t know; go ask them!
