There’s a New Metal Show on MTV Live If You Can Find It

0

Once upon a time, MTV not only played music instead of trashy reality television shows, it even played rock music from time to time. There was even a show called Headbangers Ball which aired, off and on in some form, since 1987 and featured heavy metal music videos and interviews with metal bands. Today when you tune into MTV, you generally get whatever the latest incarnation of the Teen Mom and Jersey Shore franchises they’ve regurgitated onto the air. It’s a pretty sad state of affairs for a channel whose name technically means Music Television. But now that might be changing with a new metal program on MTV.

The new series is called Metal Thrashing Madness, which was created by Maria Ferrero of Megaforce Records and Adrenaline PR. The series is said to air from 10 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays via MTV Live and Paramount+, with the first episode on July 6 featuring Converge, Motörhead, Testament, The Black Dahlia Murder, Spiritbox, and more! It definitely sounds like a fun show to check out, if you can manage to find it.

Apparently, MTV Live is supposed to be a live streaming channel that can be accessed through Paramount+. But, after about an hour of digging through my Paramount+ subscription, I can’t find MTV Live anywhere.

It does, however, seem to be included in certain cable packages, although usually as an add-on and not something that comes standard. If you’re having as much of a hard time finding it as I did, you may need to call into your cable provider to have this added onto your plan.

If you’re a cord cutter, you might be out of luck trying to find it unless you want to sign up for one of those cable streaming services like Fubo. So there is new metal programming on the MTV brand, just good luck finding it.
