Drop Dead, Gorgeous Announce Reunion Show in Denver
It’s time to get hot ‘n’ heavy all over again. No, you’re not about to have sex (at least not as a result of this story, anyway) I mean that metalcore greats Drop Dead, Gorgeous are back together!
The Denver band, who disbanded in 2011, only started their official Instagram account in May of this year, and they only started posting on it a few days ago. They started posting logos, pictures of band members, and one mysterious video that ended with a set of GPS coordinates. It’s 2024 so it was pretty easy to pop those coordinates into Google and find that they lead to the Summit Music Hall, a concert venue in Denver, Colorado.
Then on Wednesday, they made the official announcement of their first show in 14 years, writing:
“FASHION YOUR SEATBELTS FOR OUR FIRST SHOW IN 14 YEARS
“DENVER, CO @ SUMMIT – 12.28.24
“PRE SALE TIX – 7.11.24 @ 10AM MST CODE: STRUM
“GENERAL ON SALE – 7.12.24 @ 10AM MST”
It’s important to note that Drop Dead, Gorgeous was a six-piece band at the time of their breakup, and the new photos they have thus far posted of the band members only show three people. There’s bound to be at least one lineup change as the band’s lead guitarist throughout their entire run, Kyle Browning, sadly died in 2021 according to a tweet posted by the bar that Browning worked for at the time of his death. So the full lineup still remains somewhat of a mystery.
The other mystery that remains is if this will be the one and only show of the reunion. Considering how cryptic their posts have been so far, I don’t think they’re going to be forthcoming with that information right away.
