Slipknot Announces Lineup for Knotfest Brazil 2024
1999 was a simpler time. We all lived in fear of a coming apocalypse and/or a massive computer programming error, our president was being tried for lying about a blowjob rather than an attempt to overthrow the government, and everyone was pissing off Metallica by continuing to illegally download their music in spite of their temper tantrum about the issue. Slipknot’s self-titled debut album celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, having come out in 1999, with, amongst other things, two performances at their own festival, Knosfest Brazil. According to Lambgoat, the first night will feature a set celebrating the self-titled record while the second night’s performance is being called a “special Iowa show.”
Well, the band recently announced the full 2024 lineup for Knotfest Brazil, which will be taking place October 19-20 at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil. The lineup includes a lot of heavy hitters in the metal world, including Mudvayne, Meshuggah, DragonForce, Bad Omens, P.O.D., Poppy, and Babymetal. It’s a refreshing balance of nu-metal classics and modern metal darlings. It’s almost certainly going to be a really fun celebration of the past 25 years in the metal world. It’s definitely a party and a half.
