Lordi Says They Already Have Their New Album “Done, Mixed and Mastered”

0

It’s only been a little over a year since Finnish shock-rock monster metal group Lordi put out their latest studio album Screem Writers Guild, so it would make sense for the band to take some time off and enjoy their time in Finland scaring small children or whatever it is they do for fun in their free time. But that would be very unlike Lordi to take much time off between albums. Apparently, they’ve already got another album in the can ready to go.

In a recent interview with Finnish-based outlet Chaoszine, Lordi frontman Mr. Lordi was asked about the follow up to Screem Writers Guild and here’s what he had to say, as transcribed by Blabbermouth:

“We recorded the new album mainly before the tour started. And that was in March, I guess. So, like 99.9 percent of the album was recorded before the tour. Then we had that one percent to record after the tour, and we did. So it’s already done, mixed and mastered. And hence why we are doing the new costumes and masks now.”

In describing the new album, Mr. Lordi said that the new album follows in the same vein as Screem Writers Guild, but goes a little bit harder:

“I wanted to continue on the same track, in a way, so it’s clearly a sister album or brother album to the ‘Screem Writers’. But some people have said that it’s a little bit harder, it’s a little bit more… there’s a little bit more balls. It’s not as ‘hair metally’ as ‘Screem Writers’. To me, it sounds, yeah, okay. I think that’s a fair analysis of that. So, there are some songs that are a little bit harder… Because I thought it’s the same, but some songs are a bit harder, some a little bit more metal than any of the songs on the ‘Screem Writers’, I guess.”

So you can look forward to some new Lordi music in the near future to get your horror movie fix on, and this time it promises to be a little bit harder.
