Mike’s Dead Releases New Single and Video “God’s Image”
Mike’s Dead, dead serious about his new song that is! Industrial rap-rock solo artist Mike’s Dead released a new single on Thursday called “God’s Image” via Hopeless Records. The song deals with the artist’s personal relationship with religion and, judging by the track itself, that seems to be a rocky personal relationship.
The accompanying music video is laden with religious imagery, including a storyline about Mike’s Dead playing a preacher, and another with him depicting Jesus dying on the cross. Considering that Jesus (allegedly) rose from the dead and is, therefore, a zombie, does that now make the artist Mike’s Undeaad?
In a statement, Mike’s Dead had this to say about his new track:
“The next single is the heaviest and most intense track I’ve ever produced/written. I don’t normally preface my work but this song specifically covers my personal experiences & relationship with religion. My goal here was not to create discourse, but to open conversation about a topic that is often misunderstood and highly sensitive.”
