Proposal During Performance of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” Goes Viral
It’s just one of those days when you do wanna wake up. Maybe everything isn’t fucked and not everybody sucks. When I think of romantic anthems to get engaged to, Limp Bizkit’s 2000 rap-metal hit “Break Stuff” is somewhere way at the bottom of my list of appropriate songs for the occasion somewhere between “The Chicken Dance” and Cannibal Corpse’s “I Cum Blood.” But hey, different strokes for different folks and all that jazz, right?
A wedding proposal made at Download Festival during Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” has been going viral lately. TikTok user @mitch_the_uwu proposed to partner @trashgoblintattooing by getting down on one knee in a very muddy section of the crowd, demonstrating a real dedication to the event. And rest assured, they said yes to the proposal. It would be really weird to post the video if they said no, wouldn’t it?
Now that the couple’s song is forever “Break Stuff,” that would make for a great song for the first dance at their wedding, as well. I certainly hope that venue is insured for mosh pit damages. I’m imagining a rap-metal wedding with a saggy-jean dress code and Uncle Kracker officiating the whole thing. And, for some reason, I imagine it being a potluck, too. It’s all about that he says/she says “I do” bullshit, isn’t it?
All jokes aside, whatever song the happy couple chose to get engaged to, we’re happy to see they’re happy. And, judging by the video of the proposal, the couple seems very happy. We’d like to extend our congratulations to them both and wish them all the luck in the world in their lives going forward. So come and get it.
