Mortiis Updates Headlining Tour Dates, Announce Brighter Death Now as Support
Earlier this month, we reported on a headlining North American tour featuring dungeon synth artist Mortiis. At the time, there were still some details that needed to be hashed out, but earlier today, we learned more about added dates, changed venues, and the addition of another band added to the list of supporting acts.
According to the announcement, an additional date in Albuquerque, New Mexico was added for September 23, while the Los Angeles show on September 21 was moved to the Teragram Ballroom and the Houston show on September 26 was moved to Secret Group.
As for the additional support, the band Brighter Death Now was announced as the other supporting act. Speaking of the tour and this new addition to it, Mortiis said this was going to make for a great run of dates.
“The circle comes unbroken once more, as we’ve evoked the ghosts of ‘Født Til Å Herske’ and ‘Necrose Evangelicum.’ I’m beyond excited to have reconnected with Roger Karmanik, in this quest to reawaken our shared past of a quarter century ago. I have reinforced, and iron-clad the sound of ‘Født Til Å Herske,’ while the sound of Brighter Death Now´s ‘Necrose Evangelicum’ will send your soul screaming into oblivion.”
Brighter Death Now will be on the tour from the start of the tour until the Los Angeles date. Speaking of the band’s inclusion on the bill, Roger Karmanik said this was an exciting change since he and his bandmates got to celebrate one of the band’s classic releases.
“Life just turns in the most curious ways! Heading off on a US-tour with my old friend Håvard is one of these. Releasing 3 of his early albums on my label Cold Meat Industry in the 90’s as well as having Mortiis as cooperation on the Brighter Death Now album ‘Necrose Evangelicum’ leaves no better option than to reinvent this for me groundbreaking album and to perform it live for the first time ever. Death Industrial meets Dark Dungeon! Free your soul, let the body burn!”
