Black Sabbath’s Debut Album Sees 2,500% Spike in Sales

0

More than 54 years ago, one of the most influential metal albums of all time was unleashed upon the world. A small band out of Birmingham called Black Sabbath released their self-titled debut album, featuring the insanely talented young men Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi. It was a combination made in Hell, as songs like the title track reverberated with a sort of dark energy that people still talk about to this day.

Well, it seems like people are doing more than just talking about Black Sabbath and their debut album, as it landed back onto the Billboard charts. Apparently, thanks to the re-release of the album on vinyl, the it’s sold another couple thousand copies.

According to Luminate, the album sold 3,365 copies over the last tracking period. Not even most modern artists can boast those kinds of sales and when you compare to the album’s numbers the previous week, you see that it only sold a little over 100 copies.

As a result of those sales, the album jumped to number six on the Vinyl Albums chart, as well as number 23 on the Top Album Sales Chart.

Just goes to show the continued popularity of Black Sabbath and their debut album.
