Nails Announce First Album in Eight Years Every Bridge Burning, Single “Imposing Will” Out Now
Sure hope you’ve got your shittin’ pants on, because California-based fuck you four-piece Nails are back with not just a new song “Imposing Will”, but the promise of a new album, too. Announced earlier today, the band revealed that Every Bridge Burning is due out August 30.
As their first new album in eight years, it’s probably a safe assumption that the guys are going to have a lot to go off about on this one. Described as “10 tracks of pure, relentless aggression,” it sounds like we’re in for a hell of a release with this one. With production handled by Kurt Ballou at God City Studio, we at least know it’s going to sound killer.
Interestingly enough, the Nails you’ll get on this record will be different from the one you had in the past, as the band also revealed that only vocalist/guitarist Todd Jones remains from the old regime. These days, the rest of the band’s lineup consists of Warbringer drummer Carlos Cruz, Despise You and Apparition bassist Andrew Solis, and Ulthar guitarist Shelby Lermo.
The single, which you can hear below, sounds just as punishing and aggressive as you’d come to expect from a band like Nails. Speaking to its ferocity, Jones said it was a no-brainer to make it the album opener.
“‘Imposing Will’ is special to the record in that I knew we wanted it to be the opener. We wanted it to have the effect of an urgency; an immediacy in the music itself. When you push play, you get smacked in the face.”
The album will be released on August 30, but you can preorder your copy right now. You can find out more about the album, as well as see a list of upcoming tour dates, below.
