Jon Bon Jovi Begs Lzzy Hale to Become Permanent Member of Skid Row
Add Jon Bon Jovi to the list of people who wants to see Skid Lzzy become a permanent setup. After Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale recently filled in for four shows as the replacement singer for Skid Row, and apparently killed it, she ruled out a permanent role in the band due to scheduling conflicts. That hasn’t stopped some of us from wistfully dreaming of a re-recorded version of “Big Guns” with Hale on vocals. And when I say “some of us,” I mainly mean me, but apparently now also Jon Bon Jovi, of all people.
The famous arena rock frontman was recently interviewed for Rock Sound by several of the outlet’s cover stars, including Lzzy Hale, and Bon Jovi—who, remember, is a very close friend of Skid Row guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo—begged Hale to become the permanent singer for Skid Row. Here’s what he had to say (as transcribed by Blabbermouth):
“She should please join SKID ROW. Please, Lzzy Hale, join SKID ROW. Put the two bands [HALESTORM and SKID ROW] together, if you need to. But this is the best thing that happened to Snake since he met me. [Laughs]”
As for Hale, she responded on her Instagram feed, saying:
“What a compliment, what an honor, and what a tremendous piece of advice! Thank you for your kind words and candor @jonbonjovi”
Although, you’ll notice that, as much as she considers it an honor, it doesn’t seem that she’s going to follow his advice. And that’s fair, as she does have a whole other band to work with. It still would have been nice to see if it were possible.
