Frank Bello Brings His High Energy Stage Presence to His First Performance with Satyricon
If you’ve ever managed to catch Anthrax over the years, one person that likely grabbed your attention was bassist Frank Bello. The dude’s one hell of a player, sure, but the thing that I always noticed when I caught them live was how much energy the dude has jumping around on stage almost the entire time.
So when it was announced last week that Bello would be joining black metal icons Satyricon for their upcoming run of shows, it was certainly a shocking announcement. I don’t exactly equate Anthrax’s sound with that of Satyricon, but as you can see from the clip of Bello’s first performance with the band during this past Thursday’s Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden, it seems like he fits right in.
Ever the ball of energy, Bello can be seen jumping around, banging his head, and just getting into it.
He’ll remain a part of Satyricon’s touring band until their run of summer shows comes to an end. After that point, it would only make sense that he’d return back into the Anthrax fold to continue getting things in order for their upcoming new album.
In the meantime, it’s cool to see him get out there and get on stage. God knows his other bandmates have been busy with Pantera, Mr. Bungle, and a Journey cover band…
