Menegroth, The Thousand Caves is Closing, But This T-Shirt Could Help a New Studio Open
You may or may not have heard of the New York City-based recording studio Menegroth, The Thousand Caves, but chances are you may have heard something recorded there. Rich in history with the area’s underground scene and serving as a launching point for some majorly successful bands, it’s an unfortunate loss felt by many.
As it turns out, Imperial Triumphant will be the final band to record in the space. It’s a bittersweet situation to be in, but the band has helped create a potential solution that could see the spirit of Menegroth continue, even if the original space won’t.
In a bid to help owner Colin Marson move on and potentially find a new studio space to continue with his craft, a special edition t-shirt is being offered with 100% of proceeds going to that new space. Imperial Triumphant guitarist Zachary Ezrin explains:
“Colin Marston and Menegroth studios have been an integral part of the NYC metal underground and the history of Imperial Triumphant. It’s sad to see him lose his studio due to circumstances out of his control but we would like to try our best and make the transition a little easier. 100% of profits from this shirt will go towards helping Colin move and hopefully finding a new studio space soon! Plus, I’ve always wanted to have a Menegroth studios tee shirt so I’m definitely buying one myself.”
As you can see in the image below, it’s a pretty sweet shirt that references some of the bigger names that have laid down tracks in the studio. Some of those bands include Gorguts, Imperial Triumphant, Liturgy, Origin, and even more.
You can pre-order your shirt right now, with the final product due to ship on or around June 28.
