Janet Gardner Confirms She’s Not Going to Be Rejoining Vixen

0

Just this past Monday we reported that vocalist Lorraine Lewis was departing legacy glam metal band Vixen. Following Lorraine’s departure, some fans, and even yours truly, speculated that original vocalist (well, close enough to the original) Janet Gardner might be rejoining the band. In fact, as I pointed out, drummer Roxy Petrucci remains the last of the core lineup, founding member Jan Kuehnemund tragically died in 2013 of cancer, and Gardner returning to the band would lend a little more legitimacy to the band continuing on under the Vixen banner.

Well, apparently that’s not going to be the case, because Gardner shot down those rumors on Twitter yesterday pretty definitively, confirming that she and her husband, Justin James, are working on her next solo album instead. She wrote:

“Just to clear things up…I am not rejoining Vixen. As always, I wish them and Lorraine all the best moving forward. Justin and I are busy working on album number five!  Stay tuned!”

Vixen also had to release a statement telling people that they appreciate suggestions on the new lead singer, but they’ve already got someone lined up. They wrote on Instagram:

“Hello Foxhead Nation!  First of all we want to extend a special thank you to Lorraine Lewis. We’re grateful for her contributions to Vixen and wish her all the best in her career moving forward. Secondly, thank you to everyone sending suggestions and to those who inquired about singing for us. We’re letting you all know that we have our new singer and we’re ready to Rev it Up! Wanna know who? Come find out! We’ll see you on the road!”

Frustratingly, that’s as much as the band has stated definitively. You would think that they would want to let fans know who to expect at the shows. The comments section was filled with humorous suggestions of who the new singer was, but none beat @metallikbuffet’s suggestion of Sebastian Bach. I mean, we know he’s got the time.
