Slipknot Mask Maker Shows How Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Masks Are Made

0

In what might be one of the least expected collaborative efforts in modern metal, it appears that Slipknot and video game developer/publisher Atlus are somehow teaming up to promote the upcoming Japanese role-playing game Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. In the first of two videos posted earlier today, Jim Ojala from Ojala Productions showcased how he and his team created three masks based on demons in the game.

Ojala and his company have been behind some of Slipknot’s masks in the past and in this video, they outlined their mask making process for this collab. According to Atlus, the masks are based on the demons Gurulu, Daemon, and Loup-Garou. Set to release tomorrow, the second video will apparently feature Slipknot themselves, so it’s uncertain if the band will ever wear these masks as a sort of cross-promotional deal or something.

If you’ve ever played any of the Shin Megami Tensei games, you know they often deal with some dark subjects and feature demons that look pretty fuckin’ badass. Well, they’re badass when they don’t look like massive dongs.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will be available June 14 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam and Windows. You can preorder it now wherever you get your games.
