Cavalera Release Animated “From The Past Comes The Storms” Video

0

Next month, the Cavalera brothers Max and Iggor will continue their push to re-record and revisit their past work with Sepultura when they release a new version of the 1987 album Schizophrenia. To get people back on the hype train for that, they dropped a new animated music video for the album’s opening track, “From The Past Comes The Storms.”

Originally released as Sepultura’s sophomore full-length, the band is effectively calling this the “final chapter of their early-days trilogy.” You may recall that Cavalera previously released completely re-recorded versions of Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation. In both of those instances, the band tried to inject some modern intensity to those already intense albums.

With this new version of “From the Past Comes The Storms,” Max Cavalera said he was excited to bring the tune to a new audience.

“‘From The Past Comes The Storms’ is a ferocious album opener. It is a pioneer song using the ’80s Metal movement’s mentality. I love the apocalyptic vision in Costin’s video, bringing the circle of life and death and war and pain. This is going to be a banger to play live!”

Similarly, Iggor Cavalera reminisced about the creation of the song, noting that it was something you simply didn’t want to miss.

“’From The Past Comes The Storms’ was one of the first songs we wrote for schizophrenia, also included in a demo version. I love the rawness between the old school black/death metal influences mixed with thrash. The video illustrates the vibe of the song very well!”

In addition to the re-recording announcement, the band also have a tour coming up in June and July titled the ‘Third World Trilogy EU/UK Tour’. You can find the full list of dates below.
