Six Feet Under’s Jack Owens is Down to Tour with Cannibal Corpse
There are some tours in metal that many fans would consider completely impossible to put together because of the egos involved. Ozzy and Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth, Falling in Reverse and Sanguisugabogg… the list goes on. But it turns out one such combination, Six Feet Under and Cannibal Corpse isn’t completely off the table — at least if you ask the latter band’s guitarist Jack Owen.
During a recent interview with Loaded Radio (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), the Six Feet Under guitarist was asked if he could see the two bands share a stage some day since he and vocalist Chris Barnes are former Cannibal Corpse members. And while some might think that to be an impossibility, Owen said he doesn’t see a reason for it not to happen some day.
“I could. I get along with everybody, but the logistics are just like… I don’t know. I would. [Laughs] Short answer, yeah, I would do it. I’m the guy who likes to keep the machine going until it breaks. [Laughs] On paper, it would be, like, okay, Six Feet Under set and then an overlapping Cannibal set [featuring songs from Cannibal’s era with Barnes and Owen] and then the Corpsegrinder set [featuring songs from the George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher era of Cannibal].”
Could you imagine a show where the two bands just kinda overlap one another? That’d be like Anthrax doing a Joey Belladonna set and then transitioning into a John Bush set or vice versa. How fucking cool would that be?!
During the interview, Owen was also asked if he felt the bands’ frontmen would be able to work together. Even then, he remained optimistic, saying they both “could totally get along.”
