The Blood Brothers Return for First Shows in 10 Years, Announce Crimes Reissue

0

Post-hardcore five-piece The Blood Brothers have been gone for a decade, but all that’s changing later this year, as they’ve announced a U.S. tour this fall. In addition, they announced a 20th anniversary reissue of their insanely popular album Crimes.

The tour will kick off with a two-night event in San Francisco on November 2 and 3 and will run for 16 dates until it all comes to a halt with two shows in Chicago on December 20 and 21. Throughout the run, they’ll have stops in Denver, Austin, and Boston. Some cities, like Los Angeles, New York City, and Seattle will get two dates.

Vocalist Jordan Blilie said the band’s return to the stage stemmed largely from the fact that they were working together on the Crimes reissue.

“As we’ve been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of Crimes, what I’m struck by most listening back is the energy. It feels both feral and weirdly focused, like whatever chemistry we’d been tinkering with had finally crystallized.

“It was on stage, though, where that energy reached its most joyful, reckless, collective state. It’s an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we’ll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there.”

As you may recall, the band originally called it quits back in 2007 after releasing five albums during their time. The band’s most recent shows took in 2014, which makes this new string of dates particularly exciting.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Meanwhile, Live Nation is having a ticket presale that starts tomorrow, March 15 at 10 a.m. local time. You can find the full list of dates below.

If you’re more interested in the reissue, you can preorder your copy today via Epitaph Records.
