Weekend Reader Poll: How Do You Feel About the Summer Slaughter Lineup?

0

Man, you people had a lot to say about my criticism about this year’s Summer Slaughter lineup over the last couple of days, didn’t you? I mean, I thought I was being fair by simply comparing previous years’ lineups with this year’s, but some of you couldn’t handle that.

So to figure out what people really think, I’m opening up a weekend poll to better understand how the MetalSucks readers feel about The Summer Slaughter Tour 2024. Remember, they spent weeks hyping us all up with posts on social media reminding us of past lineups and saying this year was going to be another “extreme” tour, only to reveal the lineup they did.

Touted as a comeback for the annual traveling festival, the 2024 edition of The Summer Slaughter Tour will start on July 12 in Brooklyn, New York and come to an end on August 10 in Reading, Pennsylvania. will see Veil of Maya and Brand of Sacrifice co-headlining most of the 21-dates planned across the country. Coming along on the tour will be Gideon, Left To Suffer, Ten56, Tallah, Cabal, and Brat.

Again, I want to reiterate once more that I’m not saying the bands are bad at all — they’ve gotta get their bag and any opportunity to play in front of an audience is warranted. All I’m saying is maybe you should adjust your message or let people know up front that the tour’s going in a different direction instead of stringing people along with a promise of one thing and then delivering another thing entirely. Especially when some dates won’t even include your headliners!

But ultimately, the choice is yours. Do you think this year’s lineup is in line with past lineups that featured the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Dying Fetus, The Black Dahlia Murder? Does that even matter? Let us know how you feel about the return of The Summer Slaughter Tour through the poll below.

Voting will run until 12 p.m. EST this Monday, so you only have a couple days to get your votes in. Ultimately, we’ll share the results on the website, hopefully with some of your comments in tow. So feel free to vote and comment down below. You might end up in the follow up article.
