Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, and Dave Grohl Released the Video for Their Bad Brains Cover

During last year’s Record Store Day, Mr. Bungle‘s Scott Ian and Pantera‘s Charlie Benante (both also of Anthrax) and some dude named Dave Grohl made waves by releasing a cover of Bad Brains’ “The Regulator”. At the time, it was a cool outpouring of support to help raise funds for Bad Brains vocalist H.R., who was seeking treatment for a painful condition.

Well, during Record Store Day this past Saturday, the trio dropped the official music video from the recording session that took place at Grohl’s 606 Studios. As you’d expect for anything related to Bad Brains, the clip below is fast paced and shot with a frenetic energy to match the song.

Grohl pulls double duty on this song as well, handling both the drums and vocals, while Benante rocks the bass and Ian holds it down at guitar. It’s still great to hear these guys perform their take on the classic Bad Brains song from the band’s self-titled debut album from 1982.

Only 6,000 pressings of the track were made for last year’s Record Store Day, so it’s great that we all can get to listen to and watch this track being made because of this clip.
