Maul Announce Tour with Deterioration Alongside Hilarious Merch Drop
Fargo, North Dakota death metal dynamos Maul announced a tour with Minnesota grindcore duo Deterioration alongside the unveiling of a truly bizarre merch bundle that looks like an April Fools prank launched a few weeks late. We’ll get to the tour dates in a minute, but first I just need to show you the t-shirt design for this new merch bundle because it truly is a sight to see:
I understand the Maul are, as they always remind us, from the Midwest, but this t-shirt design looks much less like a death metal t-shirt and much more like something so red-blooded American that even Ted Nugent would call it “a bit much.” Here’s what the band had to say about the merch bundle on Instagram:
“In honor of every truck stop across this beautiful country that fuels both our trucks and our stomachs to keep the strength up to announce tour after tour while we’re already on tour. I present to y’all the ROAD DOGS bundle pack live now with Nightshift Merch.
“TRUCKER HAT, TWO-SIDED IGNORANT TEE, BUMPER STICKER Because in life you can either be a lap dog, or you’re a road dog!!”
And yes, “In life you can either be a lap dog or a road dog” is actually what it says on the back of the t-shirt. As fellow Fargo-based death metal act Gorgatron hilariously pointed out in the comments, the best part about this shirt design is that it’s called the Road Dogs bundle pack, and it says “Road Dogs” in big letters, but it then features four eagles and zero dogs.
