My Dying Bride Open Up About Recent Cancellations

0

Despite having a brand new album out today, My Dying Bride has recently sparked some concern and speculation among fans after the band announced they were cancelling all upcoming live appearances for 2024. Was it a monetary issue? Could they not get their Visas in time? Does Joe Biden just dislike the band’s vibe?

It turns out none of those things were the reason, as guitarist Andrew Craighan revealed in a recent interview that some miscommunication and some existing live issues are behind the string of cancellations.

First and foremost, Craighan said during his appearance on the This Day In Metal podcast that the announcement about performing at Maryland Deathfest was a mistake and a false alarm.

“Well, Maryland Deathfest, firstly, shouldn’t have said that, and they know that and have since apologized—well, privately apologized.”

As for the rest of the cancellations, he details that the band are still working out some kinks, presumably with travel plans and logistics.

“We have some live problems, which we’re, how best to say it? ..massaging, I would say. They’re not insurmountable. I don’t have all the facts just yet, which means I don’t wanna blab too much. But we’re in talks with everybody who has the facts, and we will be putting out a statement, basically, that either will explain or at least calm people down as to what’s going on.

“It’s all a bit weird right now, so it’s difficult to talk about, mainly because I don’t wanna say anything out of turn and then everything you say will be used in evidence against you and all that.

We hope that these kinks will be ironed out soon so that My Dying Bride can announce some official tour dates. Until then, hopefully everyone is understanding about the delays and how hard travel can be for bands in 2024.
