Stream Prong’s Cover of “Working Man” While You Do Your Taxes
Today’s the deadline to file your taxes here in the states — yes, European friends, we still have to file that shit ourselves — so what better working man’s (and woman’s) anthem to help you get through that than Prong‘s cover of Rush‘s classic track “Working Man (Regular Version)”?
Released earlier today, this version of the band’s cover is longer than the one that shows up on their latest album State of Emergency. If you haven’t heard this yet, it’s much bigger and heavier than Rush’s 1974 hit.
Speaking about the single, frontman Tommy Victor said the idea of NYC’s Progn covering Canada’s Rush makes perfect thematic sense when you think about it.
“RUSH had the big riffs and that’s something PRONG always wants as well. Especially in the song ‘Working Man’ with that all-time classic opening riff. We have a new lyric video for the regular version of ‘Working Man’. It’s a bit industrial and trippy at the same time. Check it out!”
Honestly, this cover of “Working Man” is incredibly unique. It’s totally a Prong version through and through, with the bit that goes into the solo really standing out as a bang-your-head, mosh-in-your-living-room section.
You can grab State of Emergency wherever you get your music these days. As for the full-length single, you can check it out below.
