A Live Action Beavis & Butt-Head Featuring Ryan Gosling Caused the SNL Cast to Break Down
Thanks to the recent seasons of Beavis & Butt-Head, we’ve already seen the titular slackers as older men experiencing their middle age, but a recent sketch on this past Saturday’s Saturday Night Live showed a more different side. …Well, kinda.
Over the weekend, Hollywood heartthrob and dude who can’t keep his face straight during a comedic sketch to save his life Ryan Gosling hosted the weekly comedy show. And while he did a pretty decent job, the best sketch hands down was when he and SNL cast member Mikey Day two dudes that just happen to look like Beavis and Butt-Head.
I don’t want to get too much into the sketch itself because it’s a great six minute watch, but it features two strangers named Dean and Jeff as they’re named are attending a televised talk about the dangers of AI. No, they don’t know each other and yes, they laugh just like the cartoon characters.
The best part is that they don’t show up right away, instead acting as a background gag that more ridiculous as time goes on for Kenan Thompson and Heidi Gardner to react to. What results is some great moments where professionals lose their cool in front of an audience that’s laughing just as hard.
And while they couldn’t get the iconic AC/DC and Metallica shirts for the characters, the likeness is spot on. Even if that’s the prettiest Beavis who absolutely wouldn’t have a problem scoring in Highland, Texas.
