Evergrey Announce New Album Theories of Emptiness, “Falling From The Sun” Out Now
With more than three decades under their belt and 13 full-length albums in their discography, Gothenburg melodic power metal stalwarts Evergrey are back with yet another LP coming this summer, titled Theories of Emptiness.
Slated for release on June 7, this new record builds on the band’s impressive pedigree. To mark the upcoming release, the band dropped “Falling From The Sun,” the album’s first single earlier today. And as you can hear in the clip below, it’s heavy, it’s catchy, and it’s got some sadness thrown in there for good measure.
According to the band, the single is effectively a single to “Ominous,” off the band’s 2022 album A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament).
“‘Falling From the Sun’ is an explosive song that represents everything we are about, not only for this album, but also brings the energy that you would expect from a great new Evergrey song. It has the riff, it has the pounding drums, the bombast, and an unforgettable hook that we are very proud to have written. Now we just want you to be devoured by the splendor of the full album as soon as possible, but let’s start with ‘Falling From the Sun’; we believe it will last you a lifetime and easily hold you over until it is time for the next single and video.

Speaking of the album’s 11 tracks, frontman Tom S. Englund said this record was all about moving the needle forward for the band.
