Misery Signals Share Clip Featuring Previous Vocalist Jesse Zaraska

Canadian/American metalcore band Misery Signals have shared a 30-second teaser featuring past and present members, most notably including past and present vocalists Karl Schubach and Jesse Zaraska.

This isn’t a total surprise, as last January, Andrew Neufeld and Stuart Ross of Comeback Kid shared some insight on Lambgoat‘s Vanflip podcast that there are exciting plans with Misery Signals this year.

The clip is exciting because Zaraska left the band in 2006 after they released their first album Of Malice and the Magnum Heart, which came out in 2004. At the time, as one did, they held MySpace auditions and found Schubach to take for former vocalist’s place.

Schubach was then in the band for almost 10 years, releasing Mirrors in 2006, Controller in 2008, and Absent Light in 2013 with Misery Signals, and the he left the band and the original lineup got back together in time for the 10-year anniversary of their first album.

For a while, Schubach wasn’t spilling the tea on what happened, and there was some speculation. Eventually he released a statement about the split with the band. He mentioned that while he felt alienated and angry by being ousted from the band at first, he now feels a lot more closure and reached out to the band to make things right. While they’ve had some ups and downs and admit to not always having the best communication style, and they know things haven’t always been perfect, this collaborative video is proof that there are no long-term hard feelings.

It’s also proof that Misery Signals are doing some really cool stuff this year and taking some risks, so stay tuned for more music and news soon.
