Liquid Death and E.L.F. Cosmetics Collab on Corpse Paint Line
Need to get your corpse paint fix, but missed seeing Devil Master live and didn’t pick any up from their merch table? You’re in luck! Affordable cosmetics line E.L.F. is teaming up with metal water brand Liquid Death on an epic collab.
E.L.F. are well-known among the femme and makeup-wearing sect as having an affordable line of products for sale at Target, and Liquid Death are either loved or hated in the metal community for their brutal beverages. While the latter company touts health and sustainability, even recently introducing reusable water bottles, and create a badass-looking alternative to an alcoholic drink to clutch at shows, we all know metal fans love to hate, so this collab is sure to be contentious.
This is the makeup drop we didn’t know we needed, but now, just to mess with the haters, we kind of want to try it out. One thing is for sure—If these two brands’ legacy is any indication, we’ll all be looking brutal as hell at half the cost of competitive black metal makeup sellers.
The line launched yesterday, and the Corpse Paint pack will include a five-piece makeup kit, housed in a stunning keepsake coffin, featuring matte black packaging adorned with gold lettering to, as the press release explains, “create drop-dead gore-geous looks.”
I personally am constantly aiming to look gore-geous (mixed metaphors aside, black metal isn’t nearly as gory as death metal), and if you aren’t, maybe step your game up. Yes, copse paint can be cringe. But in all honestly, haters say what you will, I love E.L.F. and as a metal femme, I’ll be taking a detour the next time I shop to see if they carry that black eye glitter in stores, even though I don’t get gussied up in corpse paint on the daily. But that type of inclusion will probably just fuel the haters’ fire anyway.
- The kit includes:
- Dead Set – Matte Magic Mist & Set
- Kiss of Death – O FACE Satin Lipstick in All Night
- Eye Die – No Budge Cream Eyeshadow in Wispy Cloud
- Dead Line – H2O Proof Eyeliner Pen
- Brush with Death – Putty Applicator
- Closed Casket – Removable Coffin Keepsake Box
- How to Get the Corpse Paint Look, according to Liquid Death x e.l.f.:
- Use Brush with Death to apply Eye Die all over the face, pressing into skin.
- Swipe lips with Kiss of Death, then apply in large circles around the eye area. Blend out.
- Create irregular, jagged lines with Dead Line around the edges of the lipstick.
- Mattify skin and set the look by spritzing Dead Set over the entire face.
The full collection will be available for purchase in the US on March 26th at 9 AM at elfcosmetics.com for $34.
