Bodysnatcher Tap Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta for New Track “Murder8”

0

The opioid epidemic burning through pretty much every community at this point has claimed countless lives and altered an immeasurable amount of others. It’s that struggle that Florida’s own Bodysnatcher chose to embody in the video for their latest single “Murder8.”

Set to tell the story of the impact of a single drug overdose, drummer Chris White said this track had a particularly personal connection.

“‘Murder8’ is a street name for Fentanyl. I lost my older brother in 2022 to fentanyl and then I lost my younger sister just one year later in 2023 to fentanyl as well. Opioids have been prescribed at alarming rates since the early 2000’s and have affected millions of families across the world, especially the United States. If you have lost someone due to overdose this song goes out to you.”

Though perfectly capable of handling the gravity of the subject matter on their own, the band opted to call in Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta to add his voice to the track.

Altogether, the track is heavy as hell, offering huge and chunky riffs all over the fuckin’ place. Set to release in the band’s upcoming EP Vile Conduct, this one goes hard. Be sure to check out the video, directed by Toddi Babu, below.

Vile Conduct will be available on Record Store Day, April 20, with a digital release to follow.
