Blue Ridge Rock Festival Organizers Deny Selling 2024 Tickets

Despite having a page dedicated to selling tickets for the 2024 edition of the Blue Ridge Rock Festival, organizers are now claiming that they weren’t taking pre-orders after all. That after the website showed certain price points were already sold out, the URL specifically had 2024 in it, and the festival’s main page says “2024 PRESALE HAPPENING NOW” in big bold letters…

The festival’s executive producer Cara Fischer told local CBS affiliate WDBJ 7 that the whole 2024 preorder hysteria was misplaced. In her prepared statement, Fisher claims the website hadn’t been updated since prior to last year’s shitshow of a festival. She also said that organizers were still working to provide refunds to the throngs of pissed off fans that had the unfortunate experience of being at possibly the worst festival in recent memory.

“Tickets for 2024 are not currently on sale and have not been for several months while we work to provide a resolution to 2023 fans

“The Festival follows the lead and direction of multiple distinguished insurance law firms and a public adjuster concerning public statements. As much as doing so has crippled us publicly, we have been informed that we have acted by the book in accordance with the event’s insurance policy and anticipate a positive resolution soon. Please know that we are committed to delivering a great experience for our fans and supported in 2024 and beyond.”

According to WDBJ7, the Halifax County Administrator told reporters that he was unaware of any plans for a 2024 festival, nor had the county been privy to any such plans as of last week.

As you may or may not remember, last year’s festival fell apart half way through the proceedings. At the time, organizers put the kibosh on the last two days of the festival and blamed it on extreme weather conditions. And while there certainly was bad weather in the area, bands and attendees quickly took to social media to shine a light on the shitty conditions that existed on the grounds.

In one instance, it was reported that stage hands were planning on striking en masse because of poor working conditions. Reports indicated that workers laid out their demands from ownership, warning that they’d need things to improve or they would walk off the job.

As for the concertgoers, they shared horror stories of experiencing gastrointestinal issues that were so severe that the Virginia Department of Health opened an investigation into the matter. Due to a lack of appropriate staff levels and transportation to and from the festival grounds, attendees were also left stranded out in the open while storms ran through. Fans regularly shared images of garbage strewn all over the place and just general poor conditions all around. In the wake of those issues, many fans have still yet to receive their refunds.

We’ll see what happens next, but I’m willing to bet we aren’t going to see a Blue Ridge Rock Festival any time soon.
