Alyssa Day Kills It in “Trundle” So More Furry Friends Can Be Saved

It’s no secret, but we at MetalSucks fuckin’ love cats and dogs (I’m more of a cat person, myself). Those furry little bastards always seem to make even the shittiest day better, so when we heard that shredder and guitar influencer Alyssa Day released a song to help a no-kill shelter, we knew this had to be shared.

The track, titled “Trundle,” is an absolute ripper with a cause that features additional guitar work by Cole Rolland. You see, all of the proceeds generated within the first month will be donated to a non-profit organization aimed at saving pets lives called To The Rescue. As a huge pet lover herself, Day said she’d wanted to make some of the animals up for adoption through the organization the stars of her video so she could help get them adopted.

“This music video was created in collaboration with To The Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and dogs from high-kill shelters.

“Every puppy in this video was rescued and brought to our film set just days before they were to be put down – they are now all in loving homes thanks to To The Rescue. In addition to wanting to raise awareness, I will be donating ALL of the first month’s profits from digital streams and purchases of this song to To The Rescue. We were able to make a sizable donation through this production, but let’s keep the love going!”

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), roughly 6.3 million “companion animals” are brought to shelters every year, with a nearly 50/50 split being cats and dogs. Sadly, the ASPCA estimates that approximately 390,000 dogs and 530,000 cats are euthanized each year.

Thanks to the efforts of no-kill shelters, animals that end up in their care do not get euthanized at all. Instead, caretakers handle the various pets on site until they’re eventually adopted.

By donating proceeds from “Trundle” to an organization like To The Rescue, Day said she’s hoping that more animals can be saved and eventually paired with a good “forever home.”

“My mission with this music video is to keep the love and support going.”
