Anders Colsefni Drops Re-recorded Version of Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.

Original Slipknot vocalist Anders Colsefni teamed up with New Zealand band Kaosis to drop a newly recorded version of Slipknot’s 1996 debut Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. Whether you think we need a second version of this album or not, it’s here now, so there ya go.

Recently, they toured Australia playing the album in full and now they’ve decided to commemorate it with an official recording that’s out today. Colsefni told Blabbermouth that a part of the reason behind the recording was to pay tribute to the late Joey Jordison and Paul Gray, who were both featured on the original record.

“This record is dedicated to [late Slipknot members] Joey [Jordison] and Paul [Gray], my eternal brothers. This project completes their legacy for the original Crowz. This important part of their heritage can now be heard by the Maggot generation of the ‘Knot family. I miss them both deeply, every day and I hope that this tribute to them honors their memory and our ever-lasting friendship. Long live the ‘Knot.”

Colsefni was launched into the metal world alongside Slipknot when he sang on their initial record. Although he left the band in 1997, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan has stated that he considers Colsefni an important founding member of the band.

In the future, we might get to see more crossover stuff from Colsefni and Slipknot. This past August, Colsefni was on Kaosis frontman Xen’s podcast, where he admitted that he would be down to collab with the Slipknot if the situation ever arose.

“Yeah, absolutely. If they contacted me and wanted me to do something, yeah, why not?”
