Black Tusk Find Meaning in the Struggle with “Dance On Your Grave”
Sludge metal road dogs Black Tusk have seen some shit over the years. From losing members to switching labels and everything in between, the dudes have gone through changes over the years. With a new record The Way Forward coming out next month, they’ve put out a new single that they say deals with the idea of pushing through all the bullshit and growing from it.
The new track, “Dance On Your Grave,” is a raw, yet focused sonic burst of energy. Armed with a precision that comes from being in this game for 19 years, it really sounds like Black Tusk are firmly in the driver’s seat six years after the release of their previous LP, T.C.B.T.
According to guitarist and vocalist Andrew Fidler, the new track has everything to do with learning from and dealing with adversity.
“Everything that happens in our lives is something we can learn from. It will sink you or make you wiser. This song is about that.”
Just as they did with their previous song “Brushfire,” Black Tusk are expertly making the case that this new record should be on your radar. With the addition of a second guitarist in Chris “Scary” Adams and new bassist Derek Lynch, it really feels like that infusion of new talent is pushing Black Tusk into a new chapter. And I, for one, can’t wait to check it out.
The Way Forward will be available on April 26 via Season of Mist, though you can preorder or pre-save your copy today.
