Alpha Wolf Gets in Touch with Their Melodic Side with “Whenever You’re Ready”
Australian metalcore act Alpha Wolf has been making headlines lately. They’re the band that got featured for personally calling out venue merch cuts before announcing their new album Half Living Things would feature none other than motherfuckin’ Ice-T — oh and don’t forget that pitiful Wall of Death. But earlier today they released a new single that sees the band taking a slightly different approach to things.
The new track and accompanying video for “Whenever You’re Ready” sees the band get more melodic with things. Touted as proof of the band “pushing their own limitless boundaries and exploring new musical terrain,” the track has an almost ethereal feel hovering over the sound and fury. It sounds huge at times and distant the next.
According to the band, the song was a way for them to keep listeners on their toes.
“Alpha Wolf like to let our listeners expect the unexpected at all times and ‘Whenever You’re Ready’ is a testament to exactly that. We could feel the impact of this song from the moment the first chords were written. Dancing around on our melodic side, this song touches on the complications between people with a deep connection to one another and ultimately losing them. Everyone has a story to tell in this regard and this is ours.”
Alpha Wolf are getting ready to hit North America next month with Emmure, Unity TX, and Chamber. You can find the full list of dates below.
Half Living Things will release on April 5 via Greyscale Records and SharpTone Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
