Korn Planning Something for Debut Album’s 30th Anniversary
Three decades ago, a little band from Bakersfield, California named Korn helped usher in the mainstream explosion of JNCO jeans, Adidas tracksuits, and the insanely downtuned sounds of nu-metal with the release of their self-titled debut. Now, as one of the bigger bands to tour the world these days, that same band looks to be announcing something major for their the special occasion.
Earlier today, the band posted on their various social media accounts an animated image of that 1994 classic with a 30 superimposed into the shadows. Following that is just one word: “Tomorrow.”
Normally, we’d spend time speculating about what all that could mean, but it sounds like we’re going to get some celebratory live dates in the next 24 hours or so. According to The PRP, the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles reposted the band’s tease through their promoter Live Nation. The post’s since been removed, but the internet is forever, so the cat’s likely out of the bag for good now.
Korn’s touring commitments for 2024 are currently pretty light, with only a couple shows announced at the moment — including a big ass one in the U.K. So if they wanted to add a big ass tour to those aforementioned dates, their calendar is seemingly wide open for it.
