Thursday and Many Eyes Announce Brief US Tour
Just a couple days after their first live shows ever, Many Eyes has even more live dates lined up with Thursday set for another short tour run this April. Set to take place in Northeastern U.S., these shows give fans even more opportunities to catch the pair live.
The two bands just toured together for the War All The Time 20-year anniversary run. This new four-date run will be opened by Tim Kasher.
Speaking of the April shows, Thursday said they were stoked to be playing only smaller, independently owned venues for this set of dates.
“They say you cannot play intimate rooms after you play big ones. They say you cannot put three headline acts onto small stages together. They say you should only play big cities. They say that local venues aren’t as important as Park Ave venues. THEY ARE WRONG. Grassroots venues are where we cut our teeth, so we are very happy that come April we get to play some independently owned / regional venues in towns that mean personal things to us as people.
“In our illogical minds it makes perfect sense to play in Sao Paolo, BR and Millersville, PA in the same week as each other! We love that shiz! Over the last few years, we have gotten to play Festivals, Arena’s, Stadia, Theatre’s, Clubs and Boats – so we thought – ‘isn’t it time to play some even more curveball shows?’ – ‘who is down?’ Many Eyes and Tim Kasher immediately raised their hands to join in on the fun.
“We are all buzzing at the thought of playing a 250 capacity room in Jersey! We invite you to submit your application to join us from 10 a.m. onwards on Friday March 1st when tickets go on sale. Check local listings and Thursday.net for more info. Please support independent venues – without them, the current crop of new bands will have nowhere to hone their craft. These four shows will be an experience no-one in the room will ever forget. We promise you that and we solemnly swear that there ain’t no party like a Thursday party, cause a Thursday party don’t stop.”
