Death’s Chuck Schuldiner Gets His Own Figurine
Have you ever wanted your own 8.5 inch version of legendary Death frontman Chuck Schuldiner in your home? Well, probably not, but now you can have it anyway. It’s the dream come true that you never knew you had! The company KnuckleBonz is putting out a new figurine of the godfather of death metal himself during the Scream Bloody Gore era around 1987. Only 3,000 of the figurines are being made, and the company says that each one is hand-cast and painted.
But, as the late huckster Ron Popeil might say, “But wait, there’s more!” In addition, KnuckleBonz is also putting out a figurine of Death’s road case, specifically from the tour for The Sound of Perseverance. The road case includes a setlist and a mini backdrop, with only 1,998 of these being made, which is appropriate as 1998 is the year that Death released The Sound of Perseverance, their most recent studio album.
KnuckleBonz specializes in these rock-related figurines. Recently they also released a figure of Lady Justice from the cover of Metallica’s 1988 album …And Justice for All, another of Papa Emeritus IV from Ghost, and ones of Angus and Malcolm Young of AC/DC. Occasionally they even put out ones of artists outside of the metal genre, such as their now-sold out Notorious B.I.G. figurine.
Metal fans who want the figures might need to take out a small loan to afford them, as the Chuck Schuldiner figure and the Death road case figure sell together as a bundle right now for $264.60, down from the full retail price of $294. There’s also no exact date on when they’ll ship, with the website saying that the product will ship in “Late 2024.” So if you’ve got about $300 to spend on a tiny version of a death metal legend that will ship at an undisclosed date by the end of the year, this is the product for you!
