Mick Mars Says He’d Be Willing to Write Songs With Motley Crüe Again for Some Reason

The ongoing soap opera that is the Mick Mars/Motley Crüe drama seems like it will never end. Just a few days after Mars said that a reconciliation with his former band was not going to happen and it was “impossible” to hash out their differences outside of a courtroom, Mars now says that he would be willing to write songs with Motley Crüe again. Really, Mick? Why?

In a recent interview with Audacity Check In, Mars expresses his desire to write with Crüe once again:

“Well, you know, it took me 40 years (to put out a solo album) because Mötley was priority. Now that I’m retired, I’m just me, you know? I mean, if Mötley wanted me to write songs with them again, of course I would. But right now I’m just like me.”

The legal battle started when, according to Mars, his ankylosing spondylitis forced him to retire from touring, but he told the band that he was still willing to record with them and join them on stage from time to time. But the band held a meeting and chose to kick him out instead. He also claims that the band tried to cut his tour profits from 25% down to 5%.

After the bitter divorce between the band and Mars, it feels unlikely that Mars would receive an invitation to write with Motley Crüe again. But then, stranger things have happened. The Misfits reunited with Danzig after 30 years of suing each other and engaging in petty bickering, so who knows? Maybe one day in the future some festival will announce the reunion of Motley Crüe and Mick Mars when everyone is 90 and it’ll be a miracle if they can play at all.

Until then, Mars’ solo album The Other Side of Mars just dropped and you can order it now.
