Eddie’s Gonna Kill You in Iron Maiden’s Dead By Daylight Collab
For decades now, Iron Maiden‘s mascot Eddie has only looked menacing on the various album covers, but thanks to a new collaboration with horror multiplayer video game Dead By Daylight, fans can now experience his wrath — at least digitally.
Announced earlier today by developer Behaviour Interactive, the iconic mascot will be introduced to the incredibly popular video game through the Iron Maiden Collection, available now on pretty much every modern gaming platform out there.
Dead By Daylight Product Manager Kirby Taylor said having Eddie in the game was an exciting prospect right from the start.
“What an incredibly exciting new collaboration for us to explore. Eddie is such an icon, and flipping through some of his famous appearances to see which Killers we could pair them with was a dream come true. We’re also glad our Survivors can get in on the fun with some killer tour t-shirts. A couple of those even have a little surprise as well, depending on the Survivor, but we’ll leave that up to players to find.”
Typically, the game tends to add in horror movie villains like Chucky or Michael Myers, but adding Eddie into the mix kinda just makes sense. Eddie won’t necessarily be his own murderous character though, instead he’ll exist as new skins for The Dredge, The Doctor, The Deathslinger, and The Oni. Each version will be based on a different album.
Hopefully that makes sense to you if you play the game.
In addition to Eddie’s likeness making it into the game, players that end up as the survivors will be able to dress up their soon-to-be-dead characters with rare Iron Maiden tour shirts, so at least you can leave a metal as fuck corpse.
The Iron Maiden Collection is available for purchase today, so be sure to check it out in game if that strikes your fancy.
