Couch Slut’s New Album You Could Do It Tonight Features a Love Song About a Bar
If you’re of drinking age and you go out on the regular, you probably have a favorite bar in rotation. The folks in New York City noise rock outfit Couch Slut are no different, as they’ve written a song about theirs for the newly announced album You Could Do It Tonight titled “Ode To Jimbo.”
For those not in the know or non-locals, they’re talkin’ about Brooklyn’s Jimbo Slims, which is where they filmed the video down below. Vocalist Megan Ostrosits said the song’s got even more significance to the band, as it marks a sort of first for them.
“‘Ode to Jimbo’ is the first love song that we’ve ever done, and I did that for my friend’s bar that I go to every day.”
Recorded with Uniform’s Ben Greenberg and mastered by Matt Colton at London’s Metropolis Studios, You Could Do It Tonight will be released on April 19 via Brutal Panda Records. Set for release in various formats, you can preorder your copy today.
In addition to the album announcement, the band revealed that they’ll be performing You Could Do It Tonight in full in their European live debut at Roadburn Fest on the day the album releases. Furthermore, the band will be playing a special headlining show at Caterwaul Fest’s afterparty this May in Minneapolis.
