Watch Ex-Slipknot Drummer Jay Weinberg Prepare for Infectious Grooves’ Upcoming Tour
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind in recent months for ex-Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg. One minute he’s behind the kit for one of the biggest bands out there, the next he’s been ousted an a seemingly unexpected manner by his former bandmates. And now, after recovering from leg and hip surgeries, he’s filling in for Infectious Grooves‘ drummer Brooks Wackerman and getting ready for an Australian tour.
According to the band, Wackerman won’t be able to join Infectious Grooves down under due to a scheduling conflict with Avenged Sevenfold shows. Hence the need for Weinberg to step in.
With dates coming up next month, the band has been getting together and rehearsing songs for their upcoming tour. In a bid to show how he’s been getting on with vocalist Mike Muir, guitarist Dean Pleasants, guitarist Dave Kushner, bassist Robert Trujillo, Weinberg recently posted some drum cam footage of a recent rehearsal.
Tearing through the song “Frustrated Again,” it’s obvious that Weinberg hasn’t really missed a beat since getting kicked out of the Slipknot camp. You can watch the clip below and judge for yourself, but I’d say he looks like he’s doing just fine.
So yeah, if you’ll be “Down Under” next month, be sure to check the dates below to see if you can catch Weinberg throwing down with Infectious Grooves.
