AC/DC Announce European/U.K. Tour, New Touring Lineup Announced

0

They’ve been teasing it for a while now, but rock and roll powerhouse act AC/DC are heading back out on the road for their first full tour since 2016. Set to take place this summer, the band will make 21 stops criss-crossing the European Union and the U.K. later this year.

The tour will kick off with two dates in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on May 17 and come to an end on August 17 in Dublin, Ireland. Nearly ever major city will have two AC/DC shows in their confines, with a couple days spacing each concert. That’s likely to give the ol’ boys a chance to rest and maybe even see the sights before moving on to the next stop, but that’s just speculation on my part.

And while this tour features AC/DC, purists aren’t going to be super thrilled, as it’s really just vocalist Brian Johnson and guitarist Angus Young that’s gonna be performing from the original lineup. Filling in for drummer Phil Rudd will be Matt Laug, who filled in for the band’s live commitment at the Power Trip Festival, while Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney will take Cliff Williams’ place this time around. On rhythm guitar, Stevie Young is still replacing his uncle Malcolm Young, who sadly passed away in 2017.

As of right now, there’s no news about any tour dates here in the western hemisphere, but I wouldn’t be shocked to hear they’ve got plans to make the trip over. All in due time.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday, February 16 at different times. You can find the full list of tour dates below.
