Head Injury Forces The Callous Daoboys to Cancel Tonight’s Show in Poland
An unfortunate series of events in Berlin, Germany is causing some changes abroad, as The Callous Daoboys announced via social media earlier today that they were unable to perform during tonight’s show in Warsaw, Poland.
According to the band’s statement, an accident happened during last night’s show in Berlin where guitarist Maddie Caffrey took the headstock of Jackie Buckalew’s bass straight to the dome during the band’s set. Anyone with past head trauma will tell you, that sort of injury bleeds like a motherfucker, so I bet she looked gnarly as hell.
Caffrey was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was able to witness first hand just how affordable socialized medicine can be.
With Caffrey still recovering and the fact that they aren’t medical professionals with a history of treating head injuries, the band has opted to sit out tonight’s show in Poland. To that end, they issued the following statement, promising that they wanted to get back to the country to make up that date as soon as they could.
“Warsaw we’re very sorry to announce that, due to an unfortunate injury involving our guitarist, Maddie, we will not be able to play on 07.02.24. this is not an easy decision or one we take lightly, however due to the nature of head injuries we cannot, in good conscience, play a show. she is doing well and in good spirits now, but we’ve made a decision to monitor the situation and make sure she will be okay to continue the tour in Tampere, FI.
we love you very much and we’re gutted to have to cancel the show, but we hope you understand. we’ll make it up to you.”
This injury comes at a sorta difficult time, as they’re currently on tour with TesseracT and Unprocessed for the rest of the month. If things pan out and heal accordingly, the band could get right back into the swing of things with their upcoming shows. The next one is on Friday at Tempere, Finland, so hopefully a couple days’ worth of rest and healing up will let the band get back on stage.
