Locrian Have a New Album Coming Titled End Terrain, Release Single “Chronoscapes”
Fans of experimental three-piece Locrian are going to want to pay attention right now, because they’ve got a new single called “Chronoscapes” streaming right now from their forthcoming record, End Terrain.
Dur out on April 5 via Profound Lore Records, the trio return with what should promise to be a dark, dismal, ambient black metal slab of heaviness for the masses. It follows on the heels of their first record, Infinite Dissolution, and later releases Return To Annihilation, The Celaering/The Final Epoch, and New Catastrophism. This is the second album the band have released on Profound Lore, since their previous output came out on Relapse Records.
Roughly two years after their previous album, End Terrain picks up where the band’s previous releases left off, opting to kick things up a notch with they’re calling their heaviest delivery to date. But don’t take out nor the band’s word for it — you can stream the track below if you want a taste.
Conceptually, the record tackles an apocalyptic wasteland and society’s struggle to heal the dying planet. It pulls in elements of post rock, post metal, and blasting black metal to create something new and unique. The concept album is layered and gripping with no shortage of riffs and hooks.
You can preorder the album now. You can get it in some pretty cool vinyl color variants, so go ahead and snag your copy now.
