Dark Tranquillity Finished Recording Their Album
It’s been a long time coming, but fans of beloved European melodic death metal heroes Dark Tranquillity will finally be getting a new album soon.
This year is starting off strong with the reemergence of beloved heavy sounds that have gone on-blasted for far too long. We’ve already been completely blown away by the first full-length from Upon Stone, and as they usher in a new era of melodeath, pioneers Dark Tranquillity have something to contribute to the ix as well.
The band just announced via social media that they have wrapped up the recording on their first new record since the release of Moment in 2020. Vocalist Mikael Stanne took to Instagram to brag about their hard work and announce that the record will next be shipped off to Jens Borgren of Opeth and Amon Amarth fame for mixing and mastering.
“Last line recorded! Damn, this feels so fantastic! It’s been a long and incredibly rewarding writing and recording process that is now nearing its end. The songs have taken on a life of their own since the first barebones demos a year or so ago, and we have truly poured our hearts and minds into this one. Now we ship it off to master Jens Bogren for final mix and master. This year is looking very exciting indeed and we believe you will get a kick out of what we have put together for you. Cheers!”
In addition to his stellar resume, Bogren mixed and mastered Moment as well as Atoma in 2016 and Construct in 2013, so he definitely has a handle on their sound.
We can’t wait for more details about when the record will officially drop as well as—dare we hope it—some 2024 touring, maybe even some in the North America region.
