Mick Mars’ New Single “Undone” Has a Moody Side to It, Music Video Now Online
Yet another single from ex-Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars‘ anticipated forthcoming solo album The Other Side Of Mars has dropped. Titled “Undone,” the track’s got a bit of a moody feel this time around.
Set for release on February 23 through his own record label 1313 LLC, Mars has consistently said that his solo album’s doing to have plenty of ballsy riffs that he’s come to be known for over the last few decades, but it will also experiment with sound. The main throughline for the album, he said, was that he would be
According to the guitarist, his When released this coming February, he said the album will see Mars “heading into new and uncharted territory, tearing through caustic, modern metal, conjuring gothic-tinged soundscapes, and digging into anguished, slow-burning power balladry alongside unspooling bluesy, cinematic instrumental workouts.”
n addition to his own playing, Mars recruited Winger and former Alice Cooper keyboardist Paul Taylor, vocalist Jacob Bunton, Korn drummer Ray Luzier, bassist Chris Collier and singer Brion Gamboa, who sang on two of the album’s songs that “required a little bit more of an angsty, desperation kind of thing.”
The Other Side Of Mars was produced by Michael Wagener, who both engineered and mixed Mötley Crüe’s 1981 debut Too Fast For Love.
Mars was dropped from Mötley Crüe last year after he announced that he was done with the band’s live commitments, blaming a debilitating physical ailment that was causing great discomfort in his everyday life, but especially on the road. He was summarily replaced by John 5 and the band he helped put on the map moved on without him, sparking a lawsuit or two in the process.
The guitarist recently got a W in the court room after a Los Angeles judge ruled in his favor, stating that Mars’ former bandmates were unfairly stonewalling him in his bid to receive financial documents from the band. The judge ruled that way because it took eight months for the documents to make their way to Mars after his initial request. As a result, the Crüe were forced to pay Mars’ legal bills.
As mentioned before, The Other Side Of Mars will be available on February 23, but you can preorder your copy today.
