SeeYouSpaceCowboy’s Vocalist Broke an Arm in the Mosh Pit
This past Friday, Connie Sgarbossa, vocalist of SeeYouSpaceCowboy, broke an arm in the mosh pit at a San Diego hardcore show.
The vocalist, who has made headlines for being an out trans woman in the world of metalcore, which can often be the worst kind of boys’ club, broke her arm moshing at a show featuring God Awful, buriedbutstillbreathing, Hereditary, Manos De Fierro, Iron Front, and Sangre. Allegedly, the injury happened while Hereditary were on stage and Sgarbossa was enjoying their music in the pit.
Sgarbossa says about the incident:
“Broke it on someone’s face last night moshing at a show to this dope band Hereditary; got out of the hospital at like 7 am, and then came to the gig.”
Sgarbossa was speaking about her night in the hospital, where she got a cast and sling to help with the broken arm. She was slated to play with SeeYouSpaceCowboy January 6 at Poison The Well’s You Come Before You 20th anniversary tour at the House of Blues in Anaheum California alongside Spy SYSC, and Terror. As you can see, Sgarbossa had no problem still giving her all on stage, even with the sling on her arm. Though we’re willing to bet she’s going to be avoiding the pit for a while as her arm recovers. So, the moral of the story is, you’re never too successful to get in the pit and break a limb, and if you do, at least in the world of metal, the show must go on.
