Eye Flys Drop New Single Titled “Bananarchy Zoo”

0

Weirdo noise punk band Eye Flys, whose self-titled album will come out January 26, just dropped the single for “Bananarchy Zoo” to get us pumped. You can stream it below.

The Philadelphia-based band channel noise rock and sludge weirdness on this track, referencing the d-beat Doom song “Monarchy Zoo” and paying tribute to one of the greats. And this kind of heavy weirdness is exactly what you can expect from the full album. The band’s frontperson, Patrick Forrest, works out a lot of complex feelings and angst on this album, in a way you won’t be able to look away from.

Coming from a city known for labor activism, Forrest is a major supporter of such activities, and the themes on the album reflect this. It also takes on topics like the modern hellscape we live in and late-stage capitalism in America, making it a horrifying yet relatable listen.

After the album releases, the band will tour the U.S. this January and February. In April, they will head overseas to the U.K. and Europe for Roadburn Festival as well as some other select dates.

Stay tuned for more from the band this year after the album releases.
